Hi everybody :

I'm trying to find a replacement card for my NVidia GT 610. It died on me. I did a find the GT 730 !. But, it turned out to be a "dual-width" card, and wouldn't fit in my case properly. The back panel of the GT 730 was too wide for the IO shield. I research on both cards, and the GT 610 is a 'single-width' card. And the GT 730 is a 'dual-width' card. So far, it seems near impossible to find a 'single-width' card for my System. Any help is very much appreciated. If you need any more information from me, let me know. Thanks in advance. garystan

As long as you have close to a 400w power supply that is,

There's also this one gddr5 but does look like it might take up a tad more than a single slot for the shroud :/

Both the old card (that died) and the new card that I bought are single slot. But, the difference between the two is that the GT 610 (old) is labeled as "single-width. And the new one (GT 730) is labeled as "dual-width". The reason that the new one won't fit is because the backend of the card (where the connections are located) is wider. And because of that, it won't fit into the IO shield in the back of the case. The old one (GT 610), being a "single-wide" card fit properly into the IO shield. I checked the specs for both of them on NVidia.com So, I'm still in the process of finding a replacement card. garystan

So then just remove the cover/bracket from the other slot, or are you saying you only have 1 PCI slot ?

Never seen or even heard of that before.

Is this not like what you`re trying to install ?

Really take a picture of inside the case and the back of the case
I believe I know what you're saying
Some single slot cards do take up more room inside the case as does one of them I posted
The other shouldn't 740 I believe

Put each of the cards side by side and take a picture too so we can see both.

The card just goes against the back of the case, they do not make cards that would hit the case.

My card is a 2 slot card, the metal strip on the case just runs down the center.

garystan please post a website that shows what case you are using..

I have never seen a case that only has one PCI slot in the back of the case.

I apologize for my mistake. The GT 730 DOES fit. I was installing it incorrectly. In this shot, I show WHERE that tab, on the back of the card, should go . I was doing it wrong. That "tab" should've gone (in the first place) where the two red arrows are.....in that gap between the MB and the inside of the frame of the "slot" (two red arrows). I was putting the end of the "tab" (on the end of the back of the card) on the outside of that frame. garystan
