It plays about the first 5 minutes of a video pretty well, but then it stutters... Stops n goes...

Windows 7, wmp 11 i think, on the gateway n72 laptop.

Upgrade to wmp n/a... May it be that i need a service pack to windows 7?

Dam caps on... Sorry

Any chance of your system specs and network setup (including your ISP's claimed/rated speed)?

THANKS zz...

its a file already downloaded to my laptop, so as far as i can see it isn't my ISP, but if you need that its CLEAR and it operates on 3g/4g network...

i can watch on divx and it sputters but in different spots so i know its the playback not the file, and i can watch thru with no problem if i put it on a cd and play on the tv but sometimes thats too much effort for a shortt video...

i will check for updates on the system (service packs and / or winmediaplayer updates) but otherwise i can't think of anything that would cause this... figured i'd check the forums...

anything to jar your thoughts would be great.

thanks

If I am looking at the proper model I believe you max out at 2 gigs of ram. That in itself may be the issue.

i see... i wanna say its an NV 79... gateway... nice litle machine but if thats the case then an upgrade of ram may be a great investment.

is it simple to replace like in the old desktop or do i have to open the whole machine and re-solder the motherboard...?
i'll look online and see what i can see...

thanks again
