I am looking for a free/cheap video editing program for Win7. I have used MS MovieMaker on both XP and Vista, and found them adequate... but the Win7 version is horrible - and has zero features/functions included... can someone recommend a decent substitute? I'm not trying to win an Oscar, I just want to edit some family/home videos.

I appreciate the link, but I was hoping to get some sort of recommendation based upon others' experience with the products that they are recommending. I will definitely explore the software listed there...

I use the Studio products from AVID / Pinnacle

Pinnacle Systems: Video Editing Software, Hardware & the video transfer industry leader.

They start around $49 and go up.... version 14 now, I believe..

You can see my videos at www.youtube.com/tommytillman

I use Studio 12 Plus (it was around $69 dollars when I got the upgrade).

Each software title has a section for user comments. I'd recommend something if I had some experience. The most I do is slice a section of video with AviDemux. Not into editing with effects etc... at least not yet. :)
