Video Folder Icon Spacing

Hi guys,

I would like to start by saying thank you to everyone who posts on this forum. Until now i've always been able to find a resolution to any problem i've come across or created through my own stupidity. :p

The issue i'm experiencing has nothing to do with functionality, it's purely cosmetic, so as much as i'd love a solution, i can live without one.

I've set up some sub-folders within the Video folder: Movies, Stand-Up, TV Shows etc. In each i have set the view to 'Large Icons'. With my screen size/resolution i can comfortably fit 60 AVI files without the need to scroll as you can see from the 'Before' attachment. However, occasionally when i open a folder the vertical spacing between the icons has increased as shown in the 'After' attachment. This seems to be totally random, i can't identify a trigger. If i change the view to details, contents etc and then back to icons the spacing corrects itself but it feels like i'm having to do this all the time. I can't overstate the frustration i feel everytime i open the folder, it's like being back on Vista and watching my carefully organised folder structure disappear.

I'm aware of the 'Advanced appearance settings' accessible through Personalisation but from what i can tell this only applies to Desktop icons.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 on a Sony Vaio PCG-71911M with a screen resolution of 1366 x 768.

Any help would be much appreciated.
