Video thumbnails not showing (NicoNicoDouga: Japanese site)

Hello, I don't know if I should post this problem on Firefox forum (because I use FF as my main browser) or adobe forum but I'd like to post it here first to get some suggestions.

Basically starting from few days ago, thumbnails won't show for some videos on Japanese video steaming site called Nico Nico Douga. Here are some of the examples on Firefox (highlighted in red rectangles):
http://i.imgur.com/DH7lbOp.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/CTwKEXT.jpg
Also, it won't show on IE as well as you can see from the screenshots below:
http://i.imgur.com/SuFDpmj.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/990wrGj.jpg

However, the problem is not permanent as when I refresh the page it shows the thumbnails. Though when I refresh the page again other videos will not show the thumbnails and so on. So, it's very random and it only happens to few random videos as there are no specific pattern for certain videos.

I know it might be hard to pinpoint the cause of this problem as it's not a well known site like youtube however I suspect the way it works (i.e video thumbnails, using same flash player etc) is similar to each other.

The site look fine in IE9, they may not have it optimized for FF. I don't use FF, but does it use Java? I don't ever recommend it, but it's worth a try. IF the site displays as it should with Java, then you know the problem.

I've tried:
- Safe mode: the problem was still there
- Uninstalling Flash player plugin completely: even without flash player itself, the page still shows some videos with missing thumbnails
- Downgrading to previous version of flash player: still there
- Tried on other browsers: same result and here is screenshot of Chrome http://i.imgur.com/wnbwU8y.jpg
- Upgrading my FF to latest version (22): same as above

Hmm, this is strange...

Oh and that site doesn't run on Java. It's pretty much same as youtube without html5 video playback support.

Here is a longshot

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/10797-thumbnail-cache-clear-reset.html

You seem to have a system problem, rather than a browser issue. Do you have a System Restore Point from before the problem began? That may be easiest.

Try the site through Safe Mode with Networking

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html

If it displays thumbs correctly there, try a clean start to see if there is a conflict

Clearing cache didn't solve the problem and even when start in safe mode, the problem is still there.

I don't have a restore point (before this issue started to happen) unfortunately.

This may help, run the steps outlined in this tutorial, Option Two, and reboot the system:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html#post14392
If that doesn't correct the issue, run it two or more times with a reboot between.
You may get this result:
Code:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired
them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
The system file repair changes will take effect after the next reboot.
Or a message that no integrity violations were found.
Or that Windows Resource Protection found errors it cannot repair, if so rerun the steps above.

Do you have the same problem with other browsers?

Updating the IE still didn't fix the problem. In fact, since it happens for all of the browsers that I've tried I think it's pointless to update/downgrade any browsers.

Hmm, the speed was same as ever as the page loading and buffering of the videos were same. I can't really pinpoint if there were slight decreased in speed during the past few weeks.
However, few months ago there was a whole incident regarding to ISP where the speed for international sites were slowed down and a lot of people complained about it (here are the threads made regarding to that issue: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2101708 and http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2104110). They took notice of the issue and fixed it around two weeks and now the speed was supposedly "back to normal"

With that being said, I'm not sure if that issue relates to the problem that I'm getting now but...

If your ISPs are like ours, they lie to customers. They may be
throttling/blocking partially some sites for some reason.
My ISP, Comcast, will take services away and then explain about the new "enhancements".

If a refresh always works, at least it's not too bad. Seeing as it is only one site, you'll likely get no help from your ISP. And to be honest, it may not be their fault. Have you tried accessing from a friends PC on another ISP/Router? A Guy

Hmm, I'll have to refresh one or two times (even three) in order to get the thumbnails to show. I guess it's not that bad though it's really annoying if the video I want to watch dosen't have the thumbnails and not knowing what it's about (apart from reading descriptions).

I haven't tried on other people's PC yet however I'll get a spare laptop and tested it on there (using my current connection).

Hmm, this is confusing...

Also, could you visit this page and scroll down to the position where I took my screenshots and refresh the page via pressing F5 consecutively? (like 5 or 6 times) to see if all of the thumbnails shows up for every refresh?
