I'm having a very annoying issue with my laptop. Any video I play will keep freeze at random. It doesn't matter if I'm watching in Windows Media Player or on YouTube. It will eventually become distorted to where the picture freezes, but the sound keeps playing. On YouTube, the picture will just stop, sometimes with some distortion. In Windows Media Player, videos tend to freeze with pink and green bars covering the picture. I have to backtrack the video every time this happens to make it keep playing, which gets old pretty fast. I tried updating my graphics driver, but Windows reports that it is up to date. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

My primary laptop has Windows 10 on it, and my shared desktop (which is actually a laptop being used as a desktop) has Windows 7 Professional on it. I still use both, but I would say I use my laptop a bit more now.
Hi,
Probably dust accumulation inside the machine
Get a can of compressed air and blow it out,
Remove the bottom panels and repeat

It could also be hardware failure if the issue is happening with local personal files as well otherwise if not switch off hardware acceleration in your browsers.

Temp files delete,
Save this to your Desktop
Run this as administrator and Start the scanner,
Shut your machine down after it finishes

Sorry for taking so long to reply, but I just wanted to update. I disassembled my laptop and found very little dust. But I figured out that it was just my video driver. I updated it, and everything works fine now. Thanks for your input, ThrashZone.

I find that the halting stops if I disconnect external power and play with just the battery. Have tried to duplicate the settings in both modes without any luck.
