Videos Slow Down

When i watch videos online after a while the video slows down. This isnt cause by my internet connection.The frame rate of the video gets messed up.

only using for media center recording capability instead of paying cox for the extra service which im beginning to question. lots a problems with an older computer like the 8307 running media center
