Hi Guys,

I've got a network here run with Draytek Vigor 2820 routers. We just got a new hardware firewall- a Cisco SA540 to drop in. Now the problem is, getting the algorithm and integrity worked out for the passwords is a bit crazy in the first place, but doing it cross-platform is causing me issues. I'm literally just trying to establish a VPN connection... I just don't know exactly what settings are preventing the connections from starting. I'm sure it's got to do with the shared keys.

We can start from scratch, I don't even need to transfer settings or configs. I just need to know how to set up new IPSec VPN connections in general because mine will not go through.

Thanks for any help, seriously even telling me "hey dumbguy, the keys are supposed to be 20 characters" is helpful because quite honestly I know nothing about VPNs. Thank you.

Also, these connections are all working and live between the Vigor's. One of the 3 sites are getting a Cisco in place as an upgrade, so all it has to do is mimic the configuration on the old Vigor. We're using IPSec tunnels, AES-SHA1 and MD5 pre-shared keys. They're going from site to site with point-to-point public IP's, we have them configured to dial out and dial in (transmit and responders). But the Cisco GUI, although it seems to have the same terminology, has a few more options to configure and I'm assuming that's gotta be the problem.
