Hi,

My host os is w7 ultimate 64 bit and I have a virt machine (windows virtual pc) which is a W7 pro 32 bit os. The virt machine thinks that the dvd-rw that I have is a cd-rom.

Does anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks

Thanks,

Can tell me how I can change the setting so that the optical drive is seen as a DVD-rw and not a cd-rom?

Sorry, there's no setting to change. Microsoft virtualization products (Virtual PC including XP Mode, Virtual Server, Hyper-V) only emulate CD/DVD readers. There is no ability to write to optical media, no CD/DVD/BR burning from Microsoft Virtual PC virtual machine.

Workaround is to create an ISO, copy it to host and burn it from there.
