Is an increase in virtual memory necessary with 7? I read that it defaults to 1.5x the physical RAM. I went to the Virtual memory page and the Paging File size just states "System managed."
I have two partitions on my hard drive and would like to know what the optimum setup of virtual memory would be? The first partition has 24788 MB available (System partition) and is "System managed". The second partition has 406113 MB available (Data and applications stored here) and has No paging file. My total paging file size information is as follows:
Minimum allowed: 16 MB
Recommended: 6141 MB
Currently allocated: 4094 MB
Obviously I have 4 GBs of RAM and the OS is not running 1.5x this amount. What should be my optimum setup? I am not 100% comfortable with VRAM yet. Should I have paging files on both partitions or just one? If so, which one? How much? Any assistance would really help. My computer isn't necessarily bogged down, but improvements are always welcomed.
