Virtual Memory usage

what are the best settings for running heavier programs like adobe audition with alot of effects? besides letting windows manage it itself?I have a windows 7 64 bit x2 dual core 4 GIG

ALSO, i just bought a creative labs sound blaster xfi go! usb card. I love the quality there is this continuous crackle/click sound. I didnt learn until after buying it that this wasa very popular problem :huh:
But i heard a good way to solve it was within tweaking the virtual memory. what settings would also work best for this?

Personally I have found that allowing Windows to manage these settings in Win7 is by far the best solution. I do choose to weight for Programs rather than background processes but I allow windows to manage my page file. I have read that you can turn it off if you are running enough ram (I run 8gb) but didn't see any improvement with it turned off so I have decided to error on the side of caution and let the system manage it, can't say that I have had any negative issues.

Prior to Win7 it was a good idea to actively manage Windows but since Win7 most of the research I have read says that Windows does a better job of managing itself than most users can do.

Its up to you though.
