For a program that takes measurements via a soundcard in/outputs would it be worthwhile looking into setting up a virtual XP installation? I currently dual boot to XP as this program does not work with Win7x64, it would be nice to get rid of the XP hardrive but I am not sure a virtual XP install on Win7 would work with this scenario ?

Hi Glenda, welcome to the Seven Forums.

I'm afraid dual boot is your only option. Virtual PC, including XP Mode, uses emulated hardware devices instead of devices present on your host computer. There's no way way you can install sound card drivers to XP Mode.
