Hi, I hope this is the right place to post. If not, I apologise, let me know and I'll move it to where it should be. Thanks!

Basically, I'm having major problems with my computer of late, and the troubles all started a few weeks ago when I got a virus. I don't know much about getting rid of viruses, but I had quarantined certain files with AVG and deleted other things I found. I still got blue screen from time to time and often when I used my computer it would become choppy and the sound would become distorted. It would get worse and worse till my computer crashed, but as long as I restarted in time it was fine. I posted in another forum here (for BSOD), and was given some helpful advice. I thought things were over with that problem.

However, although I no longer get BSOD, things are worse and I'm not sure if it's the virus or just me messing up my poor computer with stupidity. I cleaned it out the other day with spyware doctor and a program called regcure (both found traces of viruses). It was fine, but then last night when I turned on the computer it made about 3 or 4 "hardware error" noises, but no error came up. It's made those noises before and only once have I seen an error message (which I forgot to write down), but now when the error sound plays, the computer gets slower and slower till I can barely move my mouse, and have to wait every few seconds to try and move it. It took me ages just to get to this website. The hard drive, though very quiet, sometimes sounds like it's working away consistently and I certainly can't watch videos or do much of anything really.

Any help with this would be so much appreciated. Thank you!

Honestly, if I were you, I'd backup all my files and re-install Windows. It is the only guaranteed to way to ensure your system is clean. You might also want to look at imaging software and make regular system images. That way, in a crisis like this, you'll be up and running again in no time.

Hey,

Thanks for the quick replies. :)
I tried Malwarebytes and it found the same viruses that the others found. I've put them in quarantine using malwarebytes and restarted. However, my computer is still acting the same way. :( It found the two trojans in hkey software which I know are from the original virus, as well as some adware stuff. Are there any details you need?

As for re-installing windows. I'd like to, but it was installed by the company. I don't have my own disk. Is there still a way it can be re-installed? My computer is still under warranty so I suppose I could ask them to do it. I'm not sure if they take care of stuff like that though. Any advice?

Thanks for the help. :)

Your PC still acts the same way because it was due to the damage inflicted on it by malware. Malware may be completely removed but there is a possibility that you cannot undo the changes it has made to your PC.

Since you're still under warranty period, call for support and/or bring your PC to the store where you bought it and let them repair the OS.
