I was scrolling through music to play in windows media player and a playlist was placed into wmp without ever adding it. The music playlist was on the file explorer folder page. What type of virus could do this?

Hi I really do not think it is a virus, but have you ran scans with your av and or malware scan?

I wouldn't have posted anything if i knew it wasn't a virus or spyware or malware.

I highly doubt it's a virus or anything related, for many reasons, at least from the given description.

Most likely it was a one-time user mistake that ended up adding a playlist without realizing, or activating an unknown feature accidentally, that happens quite a lot! What happens if you simply delete that playlist? Does it ever come back or something?

If I did not have cause why would I still be responding? It is a virus of a continuation of bullshit that never works.

We can't answer that till you give us something to work with here.

Did you scan your system with your resident AV or with malwarebytes? We need the scan results to answer your question.

Please follow these instructions to find the location of file:

1. Click Start then click on Search.
2. When the Search Results window opens, click on All files and folders from the list.
3. In the next window type or copy and paste "badfile in question" into the Search box under All or part of file name:, then click on the drop down arrow to the right of the Look in: box and click on Local Hard Drive (C.
4. Then click the Search button.

Submit the file for analysis.

5. Click on Scan it!.
6. If you receive File already analyzed, click the reanalyze button.
7. When the analysis has completed, click on View last analysis at the bottom of the page.
