I was runnung vista home 32 bit, and I upgraded to windows 7 professional.
I did a clean install of windows 7, 64 bit. May I run, legally, the vista home in a virtual window under the windows 7?
I ask because I have installed the vista home using vmware player with the windows 7 as host, but to continue, I must validate the vista home - the program I used for the upgrade.
Hope you can follow me!
Thanks
p.s. this is all on one computer

If you used a full retail DVD, you can use it. If you have to validate again, but upgraded with an upgrade disc, it would not be permitted.

I know that you used the word upgrade, but some people use that term to indicate going from vista or xp to 7.

I did get an upgrade to windows 7. What about running the windows 7 32bit version ( which came with the upgrade) in a virtual window with the 64 bit version as the host?
Thanks again!

The idea of the upgrade option was to replace your old system by Win7 which "aquired" the product key of your old system and thereby blocked it. I would anyhow try whether it works - what can you loose.
