Hi all--

I recently got a rootkit on my Vista desktop and purchased another desktop to replace it.

After transferring all my data to a portable hard disk, I took the HDD out, put it in an external enclosure, hooked it up to my new desktop and was going to use it as a USB HDD.

My question is this: Can I put it back in the old desktop, reinstall Vista, and use an ad hoc to connect it with my new Windows 7 desktop without using 2 monitors, mouse, & keyboard?
I essentially want the old desktop to act as the drive enclosure and use it's features from the new Windows 7 desktop without having to actually view the old desktops OS, but still burn DVDs, store files,...etc...

I hate throwing away a Vista computer just because I don't have the room for another monitor, mouse, keyboard....

I guess I want a Vista slave...

Any inisght would be very welcome.
