I have been searching for awhile and havent found an answer for this. So I have to ask... is it possible to get the windows vista theme in windows 7?

Not seen one myself, maybe once Windows 7 is released people might customise it like they have with previous versions of windows.

I have to ask though, why do you want to make Windows 7 look like Vista?

An XP theme would be hugely welcome.

W7 is eyecatching...but too much so. It is a drain on the brain. There is too much fading, translucency, glowing, shading...its is excessive.
By contrast, XP was clear, crisp and had very little unnecessary visualisations.

XP also rendered fonts better with ClearType switched off. Plus, W7 does not allow system fonts to be altered, so you are stuck with blurry Segoe for system fonts.

A simple XP theme for Windows 7 ought to include all the XP fonts (system wide), colours and program menu bars. Anyone engaged in psychologically sensitive activies such as design or writing would welcome a distraction free theme - which XP provided.

The closest us sensitive souls can get is the Classic theme in W7, which is too brutal. I await a creative genius providing a happy medium.

Er, you could always turn all the fancy effects off.

I'd still want system wide font changes.
Why can I only change half the fonts through the GUI?

And why is there no XP theme? Microsoft worked hard to come up with a calm and organised environment for XP, which hundreds of millions of users become familiar with, and then they ditch it. Why?

And why make it so hard for users to manipulate W7?

imho, luna looks childish, like it was made for a 5 year old. It's patronizing.

Luna might be simple - but that's the pont.

Designers don't want complex colours getting disturbing their thought trends.

And I think I've discovered another daft feature of W7: when creating a new theme there is no way of editing an existing theme and then saving it as that theme. One must continually save altered versions as new versions.

This is a serious oversight.
