Vista upgrade to win7

I have a Vista machine 32 bit from HP ans an going to upgrade to Win 7 via Upgrade disc.
Can I do the upgrade not connected to the internet and once completed connect to internet for updates?
The reason I ask whis machine is on ny wireless network and the updates will take forever

Always a good idea to backup information before you upgrade, just keep that in mind. Pop in the disc and you'll be set to go..!

When do you connect to the internet use Windows Update to get the drivers you need. To do so, click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
