Solved Visual BCD Editor wont run with the Admin Privilege it asks for.

Visual BCD Editor demands the user runs the program with Admin Privileges. I cannot get it to run with UAC on, no matter how I try to assign it Admin Privileges.

I have followed all the advice in this thread.

I have the latest Visual BCD Editor version, 0.9.3.

The only thing I have Not done is login to the hidden Admin account. Can anyone help? I'd really like to use the cool and useful program.

What are the privileges you have on the user account you're trying to the "Run as.." command from?

According to the User Accounts, I'm listed as Administrator ( I'm the only PC owner/user)

I've read there are a few differences between the default Admin and members of the general admin group, but I've never run into them and can't recall what those differences are. Give it a shot, if it doesn't work there are obviously other issues, either with the app itself or your install.

This program has to be Borked. I have installed several times and enabled the hidden admin account and logged into it. I still get the error saying I need to run it as Admin, even after doing all of the steps above from within the protected hidden Admin account. There is no way I didn't have proper access to this program.

I notice that program has a few good reviews out there. Doesn't seem like there are very many downloads from the various sites where it's available, but good reviews nevertheless.

And it looks to me to be a pretty cool app. You might try downloading it again. Maybe your first d/l didn't go quite right (check hashes if you can).

I installed another copy of windows 7 on another partition to test it. The program worked. I then preformed a repair install ( In Place Upgrade) on my pc's regular windows account. This fixed the issues and now Visual BCD runs fine.
