VMLite XP Mode x Virtual machine

I did not find any conclusive article on the difference between deploying a virtual machine in W7, or using the VMLIte, using its the XP mode. Mainly, the following: XP Mode consumes so many hardware resources as the virtual machine (for instance the RAM)?:sarc:
