I have a copy of VMware-workstation-6.5.1-126130, which I used under my 7260 x86 and works fine.

Now that i have a new 7264 x64 install, just wondering do I have to download another x64 version of vmware or just use the same one? is there x86 and x64 versions of vmware or just 1 version for both?

You can try the lite version VMware x64 from here.

I have tried it on windows 7 x64 7232 and it works very well and smaller in size and not bloated.

if you already own vmware workstation, you should be able to use your existing key on the x64 version. You can download a "trial" from vmware's site and enter your serial to activate it.

It does not say about x86 or x64. If I recall the x86 either don't install or run at all on x64.

Its the same version as from VMware just stripped out other files don't need to keep the file small and made it x64 compatible.
