Our favourite website *wzor has a Vmware Workstation 7 Technical Preview for us to try out.

also , you can install your windows 7 ( RTM or RC ) onto Vmware Workstation 6.5 but image name looks like vista OS.(sure you can rename to win7 or windows se7en etc. )

I Haven't had the time to test it yet. Has anyone tested this yet? does it work, is it stable enough. how about the resources its using.

Running 7.0.0 build-197124 on Windows 7 Ultimate RC x64 and RTM x64.

It runs great on both machines and didn't break any VM I had. Also the two previous beta worked just as well.

It's always faster to test yourself :)

Is the free server application getting updated soon too?

Probably not. I haven't seen any beta invites and the development of VMware Server is quite slow anyways.

Workstation 5, 6.x and 7 support Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME and DOS in addition to all the relevant ones.

Don't really know about older Workstation versions...

Hi all

The "official" version is available for trial on the vmware site as I've posted also in a thread.

It DOES support W95, and even W3.11 - as well as vastly improving the graphics and allowing W7 vm's to run aero.

Only drawback its limited until end of Nov - but still worth a trial.
