VMWARE XP Machine can't connect to Internet

I have a dell studio 1537 I'am running 7 as my OS and have VMWorkstation 6.5.2, but for the some reason my XP Machine won't connect to the internet I have installed VMware tools, but still can't connect to the internet. The XP machine sees the network adapter. Has anyone been able to successfully using 7 as their OS and using XP as the VM machine and connect to the internet wired or wirelessly?

While i cannot answer your question, i can provide you with a helpful suggestion. I used to use VMWare until i saw this;

It's really good. Try it!

Just be sure that your processor supports hardware virtualization before you start

Check the following: When VM Ware sets up for the internet (network) it sets it up in "Nat", and some systems just don't like "Nat". So, go into settings, find Network connections, and change to "Bridge" vice "Nat". This should work. I had the same problem with several computers, and once changing to the "Bridge" setting all were able to contact to the internet. Hope this works for you.

it didnt work for me so i gave virtual pc a shot and its a really good piece of software.

uninstalled virtualbox and vmware as soon as i could
