Volume Control Panal..controls itself

My volume control panal..taskbar..wont let me set the volume any longer. It slowly raises itself from the lowest setting to the highest. Any ideas why this is happening and how i can fix it?...I am not using a sound card. On board only.

Lets try to reinstall the sound driver and see if that works.

go to www.realtek.com ->Downloads at the top->Accept the license aggrement->Next->Choose the executable file dowload desgined for Vista/Windows 7->Run the installer
