Volume from one program not working

I think I accidently disabled the volume from one program because whenever I open up the program, it's no longer showing up under the "Volume Mixer" as an application. Every other program I open has it's volume working just fine and shows up under the Volume Mixer as always.

My question is how do I get the volume working from that one program again? I was fiddling around with some volume controls when my headphones weren't working (I finally realized I had them plugged into the wrong slot) and can't remember how I may have disabled the volume from the program. I've been searching all over the place for a solution, tried troubleshooting, and I can't find this issue (or a solution) listed anywhere.

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I just got Reason 4 which is a music writing software. When I first installed and opened it, the volume was working just fine on my speakers but not on my headphones. It didn't work on my headphones because I had accidentally plugged them into the microphone slot. Well I messed around with the sound to see if I could fix it (which I obviously didn't) and somehow made it so the volume wouldn't even work on the program anymore (even on my speakers).

Normally things like games, my browser, and my music program will show up in the volume mixer, but now Reason 4 does not show up under the volume mixer when I open up the program and the volume will not work.

You have to -set- the audio output device in Reason, it probably switched to one of the other outputs like s/pdif (digital) output.

Read your manual, I believe that's one of the first things covered.

There we go, the Audio Driver somehow got changed to "No Sound" through all of my random adjusting. I was sure I had already had that taken care of but apparently it's worth taking a second look. Thanks for the response. And yes, checking the manual again is a smart thing to do!
