W7 Going Haywire.....

I was using W7(ultimate) for a while.Suddenly one day things started disappearing.Media player,The default gadgets etc.tried some things didn't work.

So i formated the c drive and gave a new Installation.(professional).
Now after a reboot, Windows explorer dissappeared,gadgets are gone,The start menu is almaost empty(Cmd prmt,run,notepad only all others gone).
But when i typed www.sevenforoums.com in run , internet explorer came up.
I cannot access mmc,disk management.Net connection is also sometimes disappearing.

Before format i had used 2 antivirus norton 360 and avg.

Download Avast antivirus and run the Boot Scan. It may offer it during setup, if so immediately restart to boot scan.

If not, start Avast from the deskstop icon, on Tools tab schedule Boot Scan, restart computer to scan.

If infection persists, download and install Spybot S&D, update, restart into Safe Mode by tapping F8 key, run Spybot in Safe Mode, fix all problems found. It may require restart to track infections hiding in memory.

If infection persists, nuke the HD with DBAN to get it cleanest possible, then clean reinstall.
