W7 HP BlueScreen rdyboost.sys ntoskrnl.exe Question/Help

Have an HP desktop that originally came with Vista. I upgraded it to Windows 7 some time back and eventually started getting a lot of blue screens. I think this first happened after installing printer drivers.

I have formatted both HDDs in the computer and re-installed W7 from scratch multiple times (not upgrading Vista but fresh W7). However, I keep getting blue screens.

Attached are the MiniDump files. It would be much appreciated if anyone had any feedback or suggestions.

It looks like issues with ntoskrnl.exe and rdyboost.sys.

Hello bluwin7c.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight, per RAM module per slot.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Verifier Results

So with Verifier enabled I downloaded BIOSAgentPlus from PhoenixBIOS.com | The Official BIOS Update and Support Center for Phoenix Technologies, and when I run it, it bluescreens. The bluescreen says DrvAgent64.sys.

If I disable Verifier it won't bluescreen when I run BIOSAgentPlus. - The BIOSAgentPlus does say there is an update but it wants me to pay. I'm on version 5.09 and the HP site says there are no updates.

One thing I did notice, one stick on RAM seems to not register sometimes. I have 4 GBs, but sometimes it will only have 3. I moved the RAM sticks around and then it registered all 4. But then after a couple of restarts it went back to 3GB.

Oh and when I remove the stick of RAM that seems to have issues, along with it's pair; so there are only 2 sticks for 2GB: I still get the bluescreen when I run BIOSAgentPlus with Verifier enabled.

And in the BIOS the HDD setting is RAID, as a side note. I think that was default.

BIOS agent plus (I tried it once as a test) is not recommended. Get BIOS updates from the hardware manufacturer's website only.

Have you performed memtest86+ as suggested earlier? what is the result?

Memtest showed no errors.

The only thing is one of the sticks doesn't register sometimes, so it's mostly running on 3GB

Forget your blue screen for the minute, you need to get your hardware sorted

I think you need to determine which stick of ram or ram slot on the mobo is giving you the intermittent problems
You could try entering bios on every boot until it shows you only 3GB and see which slot it lists as empty or download a hardware monitor program like cpu-z and check in there next time you see only 3GB showing.

Im assuming your using 64bit windows and not 32 as 32bit will never be able to use all 4 gb

You say memtest gave no errors, did you test all ram at once if so how many passes with no errors, you could also try testing each stick/slot at a time until you find the culprit, it may take a while but why bother sorting out issues when for all we know you could have a dodgy mobo
