Hi all--

Soon (Tuesday or Wednesday) I'm going to connect my Desktop puter to my TV. The tv is a big(ger) Magnavox.

I've never done this before; I've always used a monitor.

After wiping out my HDD and installing W7, is there anything I need to be aware of? I used my monitor to set up W7...will my tv get the resolution? Do I need to use a 2nd monitor setting? Do I need to use the projector settings? The puter has an NVIDIA card...VGA to VGA and stereo mini plug to stereo mini plug.

Just any advice from the forefathers would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Just go into the Nvidia control panel to set the resolution. Use the VGA on the TV's PC input and you won't have any problems with resolution. The mini plug works for simulated surround. I'm using an older pc and sound card for the TV so no true 5.1.

Thanks chev. (I'm so excited. Ever since I saw a mouse arrow on a movie theater screen, I've been wanting to do this.)

Well, good luck. It's always exciting to watch 1080p/1080i videos on a huge screen, not to mention playing video games... Just don't go blind, you DO NOT want to spend the rest of your life with glasses X)

Try and use a DVD to HDMI cable for the best results on your HD TV (If your TV has one!!).
