W7 prompting me to allow adobe flash

Just about every time I click a link, or go to a new page, W7 prompts me to "allow adobe flash player installer". I click yes everytime but it will pop up again when i refresh or go to a new page. Is there any way to get this to stop?

You could try installing Flash?

seriously though, I'm going to assume that you don't want flash on your system for some reason. Thats fair enough. The reason you are being asked is because the websites you are visiting contain Flash Content what browser do you use?

Using Internet Explorer 8

ok do this: open IE8 and click Tools>Internet Options click the security tab and then click Custom Level scroll down until you see "Download Signed Activex Controls" change it to Disabled (warning: this means it won't ask you to download Activex controls any more, which are sometimes needed for certain sites)

As you are new to the forum I thought you might like to know how to mark threads as solved as well as the uses of some of the other buttons.

Maybe u are using internet explorer 64bit, try using the 32bit internet explorer.

Hi MK2, actually using 64 bit Internet Explorer wouldn't prompt you to download Flash as there is not a 64 bit version of flash

Considering the vulnerabilities in older versions of Flash Player and the recent update, you may want to confirm you have the most recent version. You can verify the Flash Player version for each browser installed (in your case IE) at About Flash Player page.

Should you not have the latest version, you can use the direct download for IE at: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe

Should you wish to uninstall the previous version first, you can get the unisntaller at How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control )

Yes i know.
I had this problem myself, when you are using IE 64bit and there is a
site using flash then you will be asked to install flash but because there
is no flash for 64bit it won't install and everytime you reload the page you
will get the same question again.
