W7 roaming profiles

New to forum.

Running win2008 server 64 bit
running XP 32 bit clients
testing W7 pro 64 bit
roaming profiles work on XP as always and things are good
test W7 machine will not load roaming profiles and loads a local profile in lieu with message that it will be deleted on client exit
Have previously had corporate background probs with W7 but was fixed by hotfix

Questions.
anyone have similar problems? and
is there a hotfix for roaming profiles?
some other forums suggestions are to wait for SP1 which is a bit ify if MS wants business to upgrade.

do the windows 7 machines have their own OU and GPO(s) associated to those windows 7 machines?
I assume you're using logon scripts per site or department as well, right?
Are your windows 7 boxes all under the same netlogon / startup.bat?

No separate OU, they are just under computers in AD
