I installed a new MB (ASRock X58 extreme) and a new processor (i7-920) in an HP that was running W7 off of a 500GB Seagate. When I booted up, the pc showed that the windows needed repair and started the repair process, I could not interrupt it because the mouse and the keyboard are not being recognized. The repair process went on for 10 minutes and then the unit shut itself off completely. After waiting a few minutes, I started it again and the same thing happened except that the machine shut itself off in 5 minutes or so. Any suggestions? I have the W7 disk but since the dvd drive is not being recognized, I cannot force a boot off of the original disk.
