W7 won't update

I ran the Windows 7 Fix and the update fix and then I ran Malwarebytes, Trend Micro Housecall and AVG antivirus. When I try and update, it starts downloading SP1 but it will not complete. This is an Acer Aspire 5532 laptop with an AMD Athelon 64 processor and 3gb ram. Before I ran the update fix it would try to update every time it was turned off. Don't know what to do, I'm thinking of turning updates off and hope for the best.
