Im using a 32bit mass file renaming tool called "rename-it!" (http://sourceforge.net/projects/renameit/), have had no problems using it on W7 x86.
However, on x64 the explorer context menu is missing.

In a similar situation (with another program) under WinXP x86 I recall being able to edit entries per file extension in the registry, so I was wondering if there is a place in the W7 x64 registry where I could "fix" the association with rename-it with some tinkering..?
The idea is that it should pop up in the context menu in explorer, no matter what file type (and how many files) are selected.

Any ideas?

Hello,
I have the same identical problem.
I found more informations about Explorer context menu here: Rename-It! by Beroux.com - Should I Remove It?

Context Menu Handler

SimpleExt.dll added to Windows Explorer under the name 'Rename-It!' with a class of {A64BBF5F-1250-4083-924C-B79661B75AAE}.

Ok but...how to modify the W7 x64 registry to show the Explorer context menu for any number and extension of files selected ?

Thanks to all

update, I realized that

  • in Explorer context menu the entry doesn't appear (left side in screenshot)

  • in Internet Explorer favourites menu, the entry appear if I right-click on a folder (right side in screenshot)
