W7x64Pro Flash drive re-format

Hello,

Great forum !
Most everything going great w/ W7.
Having an issue w/ Flash Thumb Drives.
W/ XP my 8 & 16 gb drives would reformat in seconds.
W/ W7 it is taking a few min....like 5, 7 or more?
Thoughts on this?

Hello,

Make sure "Quick Format" is checked. Otherwise it does a full format, which can take hours.

Could the flash driving I'm working w/ right now just be failing?
Its an 8gb & shows 7.63gb in My Computer but will not accept (too large) a 4.14gb WINrar file?

FAT32 cannot store a file bigger than 4GB. Format with NTFS instead.

And the drive showing up as7.63 is perfectly normal.

yeah, I figured the 7.63 was normal!
