Wake from sleep issues

I have a computer running 7 Pro 64x that won't wake from sleep when the keyboard or mouse is pressed. I checked in device manager and both are selected to wake the computer and not allow it to power down the devices. They are both PS/2. The only way to wake the computer is by hitting the power button on the case. I went into the advanced power settings and disabled the hybrid sleep and made sure it was set to never hibernate. Nothing has worked so far, ideas?

Yes, forget Sleep and Hibernate, they are more trouble than they are worth.

Here is the MS solution for the problem.

It is my contention that with a laser mouse (I have one), once the computer goes to sleep the mouse will no longer function. There is no laser, no anything. I have to wake mine with the keyboard.

I have submitted, for your examination, the MS bulletin on the subject, primarily to be sure that you are using the correct procedure to set the mouse and keyboard to wake.
