wallpaper missing

sometimes when i start up my computer, the wallpaper is missing.
this seems to happen randomly sometimes, why is that?

There is a recent issue with Windows Updates that affects Stretched Backgrounds, and causes them to be displayed as black background.

A solution is now available which requires the installation of KB4539602

okay, so i restarted and windows failed to install the update and spent 20 minutes or so cleaning up before i could get access to my computer, so its not installed after all i guess.

i was able to install this update after a couple of attempts.

i think this problem may also be because of windows failing to activate, i have been using the same key for years but after microsoft has blocked my product key, my wallpaper has disappeared.

When windows deactivates it disables your wallpaper but you would have a message indicating that it has been deactivated. If that is the case I would follow this guide and post a new thread in the activation forum.
