Walmart's Black Friday Going About As Badly As You'd Expect

It's truly sad how some people feel they need to act like a complete idiot over this junk.

So much for self respect and dignity for your fellow human.

I used to work for Thomson and we made specific RCA models for WalMart Black Friday sales. The TV's were feature stripped. Less input Sockets, features not existing in the software, no picture in picture, freeze etc. A bunch of the picture enhancement circuitry was not fitted on the PCB and the software would not offer the options. Anything that could be removed to give adequate performance for their price point was. So when you buy something in the Black Friday crush you are buying depreciated stuff, be it laptops, TV's or whatever. We had to get the software tested and ready to go for those TV's by the previous August to give the factories time to build the units to be shipped to WalMart. I asked why they did this and was told sales and marketing and anyone in the finance department just could not turn down an order for several 100,000 specially made TV sets. Ah the good old days.

In the retail stampede that now marks the holiday shopping season, Black Friday is being trampled right along with the occasional unlucky store employee. We now live in a “Black November” dystopia: a nonstop onslaught of deals that starts the first day of November and lasts the entire month.

The thought of spoiling an otherwise terrific Thanksgiving holiday weekend by going out shopping on black Friday never once crossed my mind!

Tried it once years ago, never again. I'll pay full price instead of dealing with a**holes.

Funny, one day you're thankful for everything, then the next day go out trampling people and fighting for material junk.

Funny, didn't go shopping this year since we have more important things to spend on like bills ect. Though when I do I never go to walmart since it's the most packed store in town for events like this or when ever it's close to Christmas. I just usually order stuff online on these events the stores get really packed at least the ones that have electronics.

People just like 'cheap'. It is understandable if you look at some of these prices. But this year I did not see much that blew me off the chair - maybe a couple of Ultrabooks with touch for under $500.

What a spectacle Walmart should be Banned from having these black friday sells events.
Or at least be require to hire several police stations for protecting innocent shoppers from harm.
