I don't have this one TZ: KB4019264

Does it matter that my install date is:
Installation Date: 6/14/2017 11:41:35 PM

I can only assume I have the "security quality rollup installed for June" because I don't know the KB number. I looked but it's all a little confusing to me.

There are a number of updates that contain the required patch which makes it confusing:

https://support.solarwindsmsp.com/kb/msp_n-central/How-to-Check-if-MS17-010-in-installed-Wannacry-Ransomware-patch

You don't need either of the two updates you mentioned if you already have a required patch installed.

So on my machine I don't have either of the updates you mentioned.

I do have:

2017-06 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x86-based Systems (KB4022719)

Microsoft Update Catalog

If in doubt run the tool linked here:

I don't have this one either Callender
2017-06 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x86-based Systems (KB4022719)

I just checked these two from the {{windowTitle}} and don't have them either:
4022719 Monthly Rollup
4022722 Security Only

How could my nice new super sweat system not get these when I searched for updates manually multiple times. Or is the patch there and I'm just missing something.

It depends upon which update strategy you choose:

I think your opening statement is correct, I need KB4022719, it's as simple as that...I hope LOL.

Sorry, I don't like to download too many Tools as I'm always suspicious of them...call me paranoid.

I believe this is everything you are looking for:

Well you're covered. KB4022719 includes the Wannacry/ Wannacrypt patch. If you've been installing rollups they will appear as a single installed update and so if you search for previously released updates that are included in the latest update rollups then you won't find them by looking for the old kb numbers.

Callender, thanks for that explanation, I will always look for updates this way from now on. This was a real big headache for me so I really appreciate your help. I really couldn't follow some of the tutorials that were trying to explain how to check for this Patch, and the ones at the Official Links are the worst ones.

Here's an example. I ran my own compliance check using other software and this pops up:

Saner.jpg

Well this type of software looks for installed updates and program version numbers and relies on database lookup to flag up issues.

A quick search for the vulnerability leads here:

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS15-109 - Critical

So you'd think that you'd need to install KB3080446 to fix it.

However the fix is included in:

2017-06 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Embedded Standard 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4022719)

which is already installed so there's no point in looking for or installing the "missing" KB3080446 patch.

Thanks again, I had a good feeling it was there. I've spent countless hours learning how to Clean Install my favorite OS, W7, and was quite sure all important Updates were coming in as they should. Now I am certainly glad I did not try or install anything not needed with your help, and all the other Members here! Now gotta go order me some RAM so I can keep up a little better, only working with 4GB now, but always seem to get by with it so far. I wonder what happens when I run out...starts writing to "pagefile"?

Don't know. I've never managed to use anywhere near 4Gb RAM :)

Hi,
Yeah 4gb's always served me well until I started using photo shop and some other graphic's programs and they get hungry so I maxed out my acer machine to 8gb's it helped :)
Otherwise not sure all these browsers now days soak up the memory when having a bunch of open tabs or windows Chrome especially but Firefox... is pretty much the same.

That's good to hear guy's as I'm trying to figure out my usage's and what I need. Seems like if I'm doing lot's of research and have many tabs open, and lot's of File Explorer Instances open things are getting pretty close to writing to the page file, but I never look. 6GB would surely suffice, but nowadays seems it's easier to go with 8 as lot's of pc's come with 4GB, so it's easy to just get another 4GB. I will eventually get me another 4GB Chip just to make things easier on the RAM Chips. I'm on my secondary Desktop now and it is running 46% RAM. I got by with 4GB for a long time lol, and never really needed it, but these days I'm leaving lot's of Tabs open along with many files...and ya gotta listen to some music at the same time right LOL. I'm lazy so use youtube for my music.

Hi,
Yep I'd max it out :)
Good to watch the processor load and temperatures too if things get sluggish
This can be used on amd or Intel processors,
Download Core Temp - MajorGeeks

Although I like this one for Intel processors which is all I have
Download Real Temp | techPowerUp
Adds a temperature number on your action center side of the taskbar so it's easy to see
