Solved want a low cost graphics card for pcie x1 slot

hey guys i want a low cost graphics card for my pc .i have motherboard which has pcie x1 slot .could u suggest me list of low cost(50$-70$) graphics card having SM 5.0

I'm not familiar with SM 5, but I believe that it is identical to DirectX 11 support.

Are you sure that your motherboard has no PCI-E X16 slot? The last person that I encountered here thought that his board had no PCI-E X16 slot, only X1, but he was mistaken.

my moyherboard has both pcie x1 as well as pcie x16 slot

Try as I might I am unable to find such a card, plenty of directx 10 (SM 4) but no directx11 to support SM 5.

If you are looking at that design because that's the only slot available, did you know you can buy slot extenders, plug into PCEe x1 and you have a PCIe x16, into which you can put any DX 11 card.

and all are low end cards, If you have a x16 slot available, which you say you do, you can get better performing cards for what those cost.

Are they better than onboard video? Yes they are. Just don't expect miracles from them as they are at the very bottom of the video card list.

True , I own a 5450 and can play med-high on some games like me2 and mw3. Other games like gratuitous I've struggle on low around 23-30 fps on 1024x768. The first crysis magicly runs 30fps mid settings on 1024x768. Anyways I say go with at least a 6670 but it's around 100usd. Just piece of advice from a 5450 owner. it's not bad but don't expect pretty resolutions and max settings. Unless its not uber demanding.

Since you have no spec's filled out I would guess that there is some confusion about the ram on the motherboard/the video ram on the card

Most of the more recent motherboards use DDR3 ram.....

Video cards mostly use DDR5 with weaker cards sometimes using DDR3, but the video card ram doesn't have to be the same type as the motherboard since it is exclusive to the card....

If I understand the statement, you need a new dealer. It's nonsense.

The type of RAM used on a discrete graphics card has nothing to do with the type on the motherboard. You could safely pair a graphics card using GDDR5 memory with a motherboard that uses DDR2.

^+1 to what he said. Either the dealer does not know what he's talking about or he's trying to push a particular card over the counter.

So go ahead and pick the better card in terms of specs.

my specs are Intel dual core e5400 , mother board- asus p5kpl am with pci ex16 slot with 2 gb ram.its support onlyddr 2 type ram

You can fit any video card, be it an AMD chip or an NVidia one (it doesn't matter), so long as it will physically fit the space available with the correct interface and ports/adapter to suit your monitor setup. Don't overlook the power requirements of the card - if it requires additional power connections then these will need connecting.

As regards the memory, it doesn't matter. The memory on the card is totally independant from that on the motherboard. For example, my motherboard takes DDR2 memory, whereas that on my graphics card is GDDR5.
