Hello all...

This forum has helped me a lot concerning this win7 OS... I want to thank you all... Also, this is my first post... Anyone wanna welcome me? haha...

so I want to disable my wireless device EVERYTIME I startup... what I want is to enable this device (as in manually with a few clicks as possible) whenever I'd like to do some Internet stuff like this one... I've googled stuff but the common problem for them is to enable this device... However, I'd like to do the opposite...

so far, what i've done is to disable the wireless device from control panel, but since i usually turn my laptop off after i surf the net (which means that the wireless device is ON), the wireless device is turned still ON... and I want it to be turned OFF as a default...

hope someone can help me! Thanks again!

Welcome to SevenForums! See you got your welcome.

Now to your problem.
Let me know if this meets your needs--

WIN X key combo | in the Wireless Network section, click on Wireless Off

You can go back there and click on Wireless On when you want wireless again.

I do this frequently for various reasons. Very convenient.

WIN is the key with wavy flag.

though your solution is a bit of a manual method still, then i just have to leave it open all the while so that i'll remember to turn OFF my wireless device... thanks! never knew about that WIN + x key... very convenient indeed... thank you very much!

so is it possible to open this mobility center during startup? but yeah, i'm ok with win + x key...

It's a kinda roundabout way, but you could use a program like autohotkey to create a macro and then set it to run on startup. I've used the program to automate several tasks that i need to run at set times of the day on servers it works great.

And to run automatically at startup:

WIN F1 key combo | type Run a program automatically when Windows starts | Enter key

WIN is the key with the flag on it.

F1 denotes the F one key. (Some typefaces make distinguishing between the numeral one and the 12th letter of the alphabet difficult.)
