I just installed a Radeon 7870 using 2 Asus 25" monitors and a Sharp 720p TV via HDMI. I have no problems with the Asus monitors but can't find a way to get the TV to display. The cord I'm using is known to work as I used it to view stuff from an iPad (25' hi speed).

Occassionally, if I reboot the computer, I can see most of the boot process on the TV but after Windows goes to the desktop, the screen goes blank. I believe the problem might be that the 2 Asus monitors are paired to display a single desktop across both monitors. I can't find a setting that allows me to set a single desktop across all.

My wife has 2 monitors but in 2 different locations so she need to see the same desktop. She has the Home edition, I have the Pro edition. Couldn't find anything via the Goog.

BTW, this card is sure silent! It replaced a PNY GeForce 250 GTA which made a huge racket.

The third monitor needs to be connected to the displayport connector, using a displayport cable or an active (might be able to get away with passive, but doubt it) displayport to DVI adapter. That is why you are only getting two of the three to work.

I found the setting that allows for all monitors to display the same. I must have had a gigantic brain fart to miss that. However, now that I have all monitor set to duplicate display, I'm still not getting anything on the tv. My next option is to remove the 7870 and try the GeForce to see if the HDMI on the 7870 is defective.

Rebooted and watched the boot process on the TV. Again, once it went to the desktop, the screen went blank. So, the HDMI on the card and TV are working OK. I'm thinking it might be the TV as it has some not so pleasant behavior such as unbalanced sound and cutting in and out with Roku.

I tried setting the display resolution to 800x600 but that didn't work either.

if you do Screen resolution (rightclick on Desktop to see it) and click on Detect and then Identify does the TV come up with a big number on it or not?

Because I think the culprit is in the TV's own options, like that it does not switch to HDMI input when there is actually one from the PC.

Was discarded by previous owner due to "horrible performance".
Was running Win Xp from a IDE drive. Yeah. Was a pain.
SATA II drive and Win7 and it zips away! Yay!
The TV shows the HDMI channel. It briefly displays a screen resolution that flashes by too quickly to see. I've tried outputting different resolutions but it never makes any difference. What is not clear is why it will display the boot sequence but blank out on the desktop.

Moving to Windows 10
I finally got my computer desktop on my TV. The problem stemmed from configuration of the 2 monitors and TV. In the end I had to disable one monitor and extend the TV and remaining monitor together. I managed to do this thru the Windows Display settings rather than the Catalyst Control Center.

I was able to create a preset in the CCC that allowed me to simply select the preset and it would set up the monitors/TV to the right combo. Now, I'm drooling to get a much bigger TV. Currently running on a 32" but am looking at 50".
