OMG people. The OP does not want to "sort" his files. He wants to drag and drop them into a particular order of his choosing and have them stay. This is not possible in Windows 7 and has been discussed ad nauseum in other threads on this board.

no problem, my very first post at sevenforums was to ask how to rearange files and folders as in vista , i found out a few months later.
