I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1140ea. It is brand new. I have a registry problem with iTunes. When I open iTunes it says "Warning ! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." I have already tried to reinstall iTunes 5 times and is not working. But I have ordered the Windows 7 Upgrade Disc from HP Windows Upgrade Program. I will have to do a Custom Installation to Windows 7. Will I still be able to do a Custom Installtion to Windows 7 ? Instead of doing the upgrade ?
So then when I do a Custom Installtion it will delete vista and put a new operating system.

Please help

you will be able to do a clean install with an upgrade disc, so long as the installer finds vista currently installed.

you will only have a problem if you tried to install the upgrade version onto a new blank drive - you need to install vista or xp first in this scenario.

I already have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit preinstalled on my HP Pavilion. When I recieve my HP Upgrade Program what comes with the Windows 7 Upgrade Disc. I will do a Custom installation instead of upgrading. I have a Local Disk (C:) and a RECOVERY (D:) how do I get rid of the RECOVERY and move it to my Local Disk.

If you move the recovery partition - you may find it will be unusable.

It is not clear what kind of upgrade disc oem's will send out.

I would be surprised if it were the standard MS installation dvd.

We will have to wait and see - it may be oem's will send out their own doctored versions - including the drivers and bloatware you usually get with oem pre-installs.

If that's the case - you may not get the options you would get with the proper MS dvd.

You might have to do an in-place upgrade install.
