Way to recover unsaved word docs that aren't in auto-backup folder?

I'm wondering if there's a way to recover documents that were lost during a PC reset, which are not appear in the auto-backup folder. Initially, after a forced reset, they did appear to be recovered, but then another reset was made, which forced Word to close, with all those documents still unsaved, and after resetting again Word wasn't opened again, and there was another reset before Word was reopened and those documents looked for. But now they don't appear in the auto-recover folder, or in the program history.

Will there be another place these documents are recorded on my PC, and a way which I can reclaim them?

Your info is a bit vague. When you say auto back up are you referring to System Restore?. Also you mention a number of resets. What actually do you mean by resets or are you referring to reinstalls of Windows.

If you have files that are valuable & you must keep them, then you must have at least one backup of those on separate media. If your main hard drive fails, all your files are on it will be lost. Also if you do a full reinstall of Windows everything on that drive will be lost as well.

When I see the word "reset," I also picture the computer locking up so badly that all one can do is to press the reset button, which is usually just below the Power button, on most desktops; or, the Power/Reset button on a laptop. OP, is that what you mean by reset?

I can't remember what made the PC reset the first time. When it got into Windows, I launched Word to see if my unsaved documents were there, and they were - and I opened them all again. Then, minutes later, the PC wanted to restart again, something about an incompatible driver, and I had a lot of documents open that I had been working on for days and couldn't sort through at that time. As the documents were remembered automatically by Word the last time the PC reset, I let the PC reset again, without closing any documents first, I just let Windows close everything. The next time the PC booted, I removed that driver and restarted my PC, without opening Word - I assumed the documents would remain remembered if I left it alone. But the documents aren't there to open by auto-backup now.

There is nothing in the Unsaved Files folder for Word documents, even though my Word is configured to auto save documents.
