OK, first one I could zoom and see. Not always. At times. I think the file is too large and with my internet speed it is a struggle.

Second one even after zooming is barely readable.

Wouldn't it have been easier and better if he had taken only the screenshots of those two Windows that matter and uploaded to Sevenforums? Everything could be seen in the post itself without any struggle.

Sure a simple screenshot would have been easier - here is my clip of his drop box post. It looks to me like there is nothing there that PW can recover.

@ Driver170, Partition Wizard shows one existing partition spanning the whole drive and double clicking on it shows two folders. What are they? System Volume Information and Recycle Bin (115MB) That is all there in it.

Surely your drive has been formatted.

If you think you had lot of data in it and want to recover you have to use a file carving utility like PhotoRec.

Did you try Recuva suggested by mjf?

Try it first.

If you want to use PhotoRec

http://www.sevenforums.com/software/193467-guide-using-photorec-recovery-software.html

PhotoRec Step By Step - CGSecurity

If PhotoRec manages to recover, it will all be a bunch of files without the original filenames and folder structure since the original MFT is lost..

If you want to recover all files and folders with original structure you may try the free demo version of GetDataback simple, https://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm Choose Level 3 Or Level 4 and scan your drive.

If it shows all your files and folders with original structure, you may have to buy a licence (USD 80) to copy those.

Good Luck.

After a great struggle :) I managed to read everything.

I have already posted a reply - the post above- and sure I do not want to struggle any more. First and last struggle ever.. In future I shall stay away from any thread where the OP posts the screenshots to third party servers.

Those are protected operating system files. You won't see those unless you uncheck "Hide protected operating system files " in Folder Options.

Getdataback: I can't say what is happening in your case. We have seen in many cases where even PhotoRec failed, Getdataback was successful. Please read all documentation in the website on how to use it and try whatever you can. It does not write anything to the drive and so no fears. Try it with various levels. I think the highest level will take many many hours.

Well that's something positive. PhotoRec attempts to recover RAW files when your file system has been corrupted or wiped.
The lesson is that precious source data like photos, important document, important emails should be backed up more than one destination.

Please post back how PhotoRec was able to recover your photos.
