Solved WDC WD30 EZRX only showing as 746GB not 3TB

Hi,

I scanned my 3TB drive and it had some errors so I backed it up to another drive and then fixed all the errors with scan disk.

I Then went to format the drive and it will now only format to 746Gb not the 2.7GB it was before?

Hey Brizee. Is this the same drive you were having trouble with in the other thread?

You may be dealing with the 2.2TB limit issue for MBR disks.

For most people it is just easier to format the disk GPT instead of MBR. Then you can use all of the drive as you wish without the limitation issue. It is easy for data drives, more complicated for drives with an OS on them.

Our P6Ts do not seem to recognize these larger drives natively. But a newer version of Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver can make it work:

Thanks again, Problem solved the link was broken in to the Intel driver but it is named iata_cd.exe on the intel website. Cant thank you enough Tveblen...!
