Webcam Software

Hey all!

I just got a new Dell laptop. Before I ever even booted it up, I wiped and did a clean install of Win7.

This computer has a built in webcam. The webcame works just fine on, say, SKYPE or Facebook so it's obvious that I don't need the drivers (I'm sure Windows installed those upon install) Thing is, there's no software (e.g. interface) for me to just run my webcame locally and take a picture.

Is there something good out there for me to use to interface with my webcam?

also got a dell laptop, nervous about getting all my programs that came with the computer if i ever had to make a clean install, i wrote dell, which has an excellent service, they showed me that on their site one can download all of the programs added on to a new laptop of dell/
i happen to still have the program "dell webcam" in a folder, i would send you it, but don't know how, but i assume it is much easier to just download it your self.
it works great in windows 7.

i want webcam software that takes pictures in great quality and also for recording.
the one i got from my manufacturer has static-like quality on the software. what should i get?

the software from dell let's you snap and record up to a resolution of : 1600/1200.
i would assume it depends on your camera, my laptop is a 2 million pixel.
