webio.dll popup problem

Hi,
On my wife's PC running Windows 7 Home Premium, every time she uses Firefox browser and she closes it down she gets a pop up saying that 'The program is unable to start because webio.dll is missing, please reinstall the program', this pop up appears twice and if closed both times it stays away. I cannot find which program could be causing this problem and have tried to replace the webio.dll but with no success. If I try a repair using the Windows disc will this cure the problem?

It can be the wrong dll ie 32bit instead of 64 bit. It is corrupt. Its often a sign of malware. You can run sfc /scannow from an admin cmd prompt see if that fixes it.

If you run FF with no addons do you get the error hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut.


Please download and save FRST 64bit or FRST 32 bit to your Desktop.

Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Make sure that Addition option is checked.
Press Scan button.
It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
Please copy and paste log back .
The first time the tool is run it generates another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe).
