webpage error - invalid argument

i am using Internet explorer, for a change - I used Firefox, for the past 5 years, up until last week. When Gmail started dropping my text (and addressee) on sending messages. (another unresolved issue, but probably off topic of W7 users). I have made a real effort to troll through here, to see if this topic has been raised and answered. So, excuses if it has - please re-direct me. Thanks!
for the past 2 days, I get the following error message. It is just from visiting the one webpage (QATAR AIR). <http://www.qatarairways.com/global/en/worldwide-offices.html>
my problem is i need to communicate with them about a planned air trip, asap.

well Its a Java Script. If you ahve not updated your Java, then you could try upgrading to the latest version. Note: uninstall the previous version of Javascript first. Download Free Java Software - Sun Microsystems

Also, what Browser and Version do you have? examples: IE8 /// Firefox 3.6

IE 8. tia.
It is only 1 week since i did a clean instal of W7. So I cant imagine that anythng is not fully up to date. but I will do what you suggest about Javascript.

Update: i ran Avira anti virus. It showed a trojan ?? named TR/AGENT.333316 which it quarantined, as far as i can tell (currently doing a second scan). My IE8 problems have expanded. Now I am getting this 'IE error message' popping up while i am visiting a number of different websites.
More examples of Error messages:
ERROR MESSAGES FROM INTERNET EXPLORER:

- SYNTAX ERROR
- NULL IS NOT AND NOT AN OBJECT
- PAGETRACKER IS UNIDENTIFIED - dsc download.hhtml code 0 line 155 char.2 url iobit.com
- C:\USERS\COMPAG\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\jre.1.6.0_18\jre1.6.0_18-C-1.msi is corrupt

I appreciate that I may be mixing 2 topics here:
- a trojan threat that got in to my system and
- some IE problems.
any help would be appreciated...
