I'm using win7 Pro, 64 bit, Internet Explorer 11, (Google)withDslextreme. Been fighting this problem for months. I can click on any result of a search and getto a site with no problem. But if I check on a website link. It looks as if it tries, but I get a blueblank tab with the Explorer symbol. Ihave tried resetting Explorer, ran several malware programs. Even tried Yahoo,Firefox engines and nothing helps. If I "copy shortcut" and"paste" it in the address bar, it works. I'm about ready to justreinstall Win 7. Please explain how tofix this! I see others are having this problem to.
thanks

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
That is an interesting entry AWG ?
Well the blue color just signifies you use tab grouping no big deal there
Blank page well that could be as easy as full reset,
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1222-internet-explorer-reset.html

If no joy from reset use Clean boot,
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ation-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html
Click Start and type in the search box,
msconfig
Click on the suggestion on top or hit the Enter key,
Go to the Startup section and take some screen shots for a complete list,
Go to the Services section and on the bottom left Check the box to Hide All Microsoft services,
Repeat the screen shots,
See the links above my signature on how to take and upload screen shots here,
Cheers.

Not sure I understand, this something I have never done. is 'Command Line' the same as 'Command Prompt'? I know how to use Command Prompt.

thanks for the quick reply.

You are correct, I'll pay more attention to my one finger typing. and the download removed it. hope that helps with some of my problems. But I had to cut and paste the link, clicking it just got the blank tab.

Yes,Command Line and Command Prompt are the same things.Hmm,they're a bit fifferent but they do the same type job. Command Line is 16bit version of Command Prompt. They have the same purposes, but Command Line works only on 16bit systems. Try this and let me know if the problems gets fixed:)

No matter what Command Line used to mean, let's call Command Line the text that you run inside of the Command Prompt window. You will also find the term Command Line used as an optional column header within Task Manager > Processes tab (View > Select Columns...). And within Process Explorer. The shortcut field named Target usually contains a Command Line (text) too.

Oldchipper,
You picked an excellent title for your thread. Many people will find it in the future via search engines. For that reason, I'm going to be a bit verbose:

On a 64bit Operating System that is using IE10 or IE11, you should re-register the 32bit DLL and the 64bit DLL. You must use an elevated Command Prompt to do so. (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/783-elevated-command-prompt.html).

Code:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll"

Code:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll"

I'm not saying that this will fix your issue, I'm just adding to what DarKnight suggested.

Starting with IE10, on 64bit Operating Systems, IE starts a 64bit "parent" process. That process has no visible window. The default windows that you see are 32bit "children". Each child can be a 64bit process when Enhanced Protected Mode (EPM) is enabled. It is a bit safer when they are 64bit processes. See this post and the tutorial above it. Those steps work for IE11 too.

On your computer:
If EPM is not enabled, please enable it.
If EPM is enabled, please temporarily disable it.
Restart the computer.
(or exit IE and make sure that IE leaves RAM before restarting IE)
Now test your link - blank tab issue.

If EPM was not enabled, but now IE works fine with EPM enabled, then the problem might be with the 32bit part of IE.

If EPM was enabled, but now IE works fine with EPM not enabled, then the problem might be with the 64bit part of IE.
